The Volcano Café is in the historic port town of Lyttelton (15 minutes by cab or 30 minutes by bus from the centre of Christchurch).
Here's an idea. Spend the afternoon exploring the town or taking a boat trip on the harbour.
Then make your way to the Lava Bar for a long, cool sundowner in the secluded, flower-filled courtyard before taking your seat in the restaurant and making your choice from the international menu that features great steaks, fresh fish, spicy enchiladas, curry, local seafood, vegetarian options, crisp salads and much more.

We seat up to 100 diners and specialise in looking after corporate, sporting, birthday, or wedding groups of any size.

The Lava Bar opens at 5pm every day for drinks and tasty bar snacks with a good selection of local and imported wines, beers, spirits, liqueurs and cocktails.
Relax and enjoy the warm hospitality in an informal atmosphere. The main menu is available from 6pm.
